Join us at the Jeanne and Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre in Camrose for a great lineup of shows!
The Rose City has a great fall experience and everyone at the Lougheed Centre are excited to be part of that with a great number of live events for everyone to enjoy. And they’re all coming to the theatre in September and October.
These upcoming seven shows add to the magic of our 10th anniversary too!
Chantal Kreviazuk
Chantal has performed in Camrose before and is a well-known Canadian pop-star. This year she’s doing a special performance on our nine-foot Steinway and Sons grand piano. This is going to be amazing and she performs Thursday, Sept. 26 at 7:30 p.m.
Chantal Kreviazuk is a platinum-selling, Grammy and three-time Juno Award-winning artist from Winnipeg. In 2016, she returned with her sixth album “Hard Sail.” While raising her three sons with husband Raine Maida, she also spent time on her other musical passion, crafting songs. Chantal has written for Drake, Pitbull, Kendrick Lamar, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Josh Groban and countless others. A holiday album – “Christmas Is A Way Of Life, My Dear” – followed in 2019, and a brand new album “Get To You” was released in the summer of 2020.
Skerryvore
Skerryvore are Scotland’s newest musical export. Kilts, bagpipes, and great music. Friday, Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m.
What are Skerryvore? They’re like no one else. Epic of melody, intimate of feeling and plugged into the roots of Scotland but blasting out to the world.
Three time winners of Scotland’s ‘Live Act of the Year’ award, Skerryvore have evolved from their humble beginnings to become one of the country’s leading forces in a thriving live music scene. At the forefront of a movement that has reinvented and reignited a traditional Scottish scene for a modern, multicultural audience, the band have brought their high energy performances to audiences across the globe.
God is a Scottish Drag Queen
A two-act comedy of Biblical proportions, reviews for this performance are high and performer Mike Delamont created this hilarious show with his wife. Playing Camrose Thursday, Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m.
God, dressed in a floral power suit, comes down to set the record straight and expound on everything from Noah’s Ark to Star Wars and answer humankind’s most asked questions in a hilarious and unforgettable night of comedy! Loved by Preachers and Atheists alike, this show has quickly become one of the most popular one man shows touring today and has received critical acclaim for its non-stop brilliant look at pop culture and humanity through the eyes of a silly, foul mouthed, and very loveable Scottish Deity.
Returns Department by the Kif-Kif Sisters
A circus-theatre production for young audiences by the Kif-Kif Sisters.
Twin sisters welcome you to the Returns Department, where merchandise returned to the store by disgruntled customers is inspected. This performance plays Camrose on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 2 p.m.
They discover all sorts of dysfunctional objects and manufacturing defects on their conveyor belt. For them, dealing with complaints is like opening a box of chocolates.
Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival
“The world’s best mountain films.”
We’re so proud to host the film festival here in Camrose. Getting on the approved presenters list takes time as there is high demand for the festival. And now, three years in, we’re so excited to have this year’s selection playing Camrose on Thursday, Oct. 10!
Hailey Benedict
Country up-and-comer Hailey Benedict plays in our Mayer Family Community Hall for a special performance that likely won’t happen again, she’s become so popular! Playing Camrose Friday, Oct. 11, this will be a great show and it’s almost sold out.
“Meet the future star of country music.” City TV
A dynamic performer, multi-award winner, and charitable advocate, Hailey Benedict continues to make her mark as a rising talent in country music. This guitar-wielding singer-songwriter has defied gravity, climbing the ranks from the emerging artist who was pulled in front of a sold-out crowd at a Keith Urban concert to perform an original song to national charting and touring artist in a few short years.
ODDS
We’re super excited for rock group, Odds, to perform in Camrose. After a many year hiatus, the group is out and about and they’re playing Camrose on Friday, Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m.
This show keeps on selling too, and we know it’s going to be an amazing show! Founded in Vancouver, B.C. in 1987, Odds burst onto the recording scene in 1991 with their rambunctious, self-produced major label debut, Neopolitan. Their 1993 gold-selling follow-up, Bedbugs featured the iconic single “It Falls Apart”. Bedbugs was notable for its special guest Warren Zevon who had picked up Odds as his band and opening act in late 1991.
As our 10th anniversary year continues, we know there are many concerts and performance events in Camrose you’ll want to see, and we also know that the Jeanne and Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre has the shows you want.
See you at the next one!
